Enable XML Video Sitemaps

  • Go to the WordPress dashboard and Navigate to the SiteSEO -> Sitemaps.

  •  Enable the 'Sitemaps - SiteSEO' feature if it's not already enabled.

  • Enable the 'Enable Video Sitemap' option.

  • Save the settings.

Viewing XML Video Sitemap

  • You can view video sitemap by clicking on the 'Open Video Sitemap'.

  • Alternatively, you can view the XML sitemaps by typing 'https://example.com/video1.xml/' directly in your browser's address bar.

Add videos Manually to XML sitemap

Using below simple steps you can manually include unlimited videos in your XML sitemap but it's essential to adhere to Google's guidelines.

  • Edit a post, page, or post type.
  • In the SiteSEO metabox, navigate to the 'Video Sitemap' tab.

  • Click on the first Video accordion and complete all required fields (Video URL, Video title, Video description, and Video thumbnail) to describe your video for optimal visibility on Google.

Note: your video won't be added to the sitemap if: 'Exclude this post from Video Sitemap?' is checked or The post is set to 'noindex' in the Advanced tab or The Video URL field is empty.

Automatically Adding YouTube Videos to XML Sitemap

Our SiteSEO plugin automatically includes YouTube videos when you create or save a post, page, or post type.
  • Go to SiteSEO > Tools.

  • Access the "Video Sitemap" tab.

  •  Click on the 'Regenerate' button to regenerate the video sitemap if any YouTube videos are missing.

Note: By default, we use the post content field to find new videos. If you want to add other fields like custom fields then you can use our hook.
