Display date in search results

Overview

The 'Display Date in Search Results' feature in the SiteSEO plugin allows you to control how the date of your posts appears in Google search results. By enabling this option, you can ensure that Google displays the correct publication and modification dates for your content, enhancing its relevance and visibility on search engine result pages (SERPs).

How To Enable?

  • Go to the WordPress dashboard and Navigate to the SiteSEO section.
  • go to 'Titles & Metas'.
  • Under the 'Post Types' tab, check 'Display date in Google search results?' for desired post types.
  • Use the 'Advanced' tab for entire site configuration.
  • Clear the cache.

Understanding Meta Tags

Activating this option adds dedicated meta tags to the head of your document, indicating the publication and modification dates:
<meta property="article:published_time" content="2023-07-28T12:00:23+00:00">
<meta property="article:modified_time" content="2023-07-28T12:00:23+00:00">
Note. Even if you choose not to activate this option, Google may still display the post date in search results by using other dates from your source code.
