Emojis in meta title / description

Overview

SiteSEO offers full support for using emojis (e.g., 😀😃😎🥳🥰) in metadata like the title tag or meta description, adding a touch of creativity and expression to your website content. However, if you encounter issues saving emojis or they do not appear correctly in your source code, it could be due to an incorrect database charset.

Checking Your Database Charset

  • Go to your WordPress admin dashboard.
  • Navigate to 'Tools' and select 'Site Health'.
  • In the 'Info' tab, click on 'Database' to view your database details.
  • Check the line labeled 'Database charset' to identify the current charset.

Required Charset for Using Emojis

To ensure emojis work correctly, the database charset value must be set to 'utf8mb4'. If it shows only 'utf8', emojis will not be supported.

Resolving the Issue

To fix this problem, backup the database and contact to the host.
